African-American roots: From servitude to civil rights seen through the eyes of the Quander family

The internationally renowned Quander Family traces its American lineage back almost 350 years in the Maryland and Virginia colonies, including involuntary servitude at George Washington’s Mount Vernon Plantation. Glover Park Village invites you to learn about this family at a free presentation by Quander descendant and multigenerational Washingtonian Rohulamin Quander. The event will take place Thursday, Feb. 22, 4-6 pm at Guy Mason Recreation Center.

Quander descendant and multigenerational Washingtonian Rohulamin Quander will describe his family’s struggles and triumphs in this presentation. A Brookland, DC, author of four books highlighting significant components of Africa-American life, he served as a Senior Administrative Law Judge for the District of Columbia.

The event is free but those interested in attending should RSVP: Events@GloverParkVillage.org
