All DC Village volunteers, caregivers, and the general public are invited to attend three training workshops at Guy Mason Recreation Center (3600 Calvert Street NW, Washington, DC 2007) on aging in community. The sessions will cover supporting seniors through transitions and crisis, resources, and communicating respectfully and attentively when providing assistance to seniors. All sessions are free and presented by GPV, Mount Pleasant Village, East Rock Creek Village, and the DC Office on Aging.
The first, Supporting Seniors Through Transitions and Crisis, will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on June 6. Light refreshments will be available.
The second, Resources for Volunteers and Caregivers, will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on June 13. Light refreshments will be available.
The third, Communicating Respectfully and Attentively When Providing Assistance to Seniors, takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 22. Lunch will be provided.
